Answer:36
Critical thinking question for Junior secondary school:
Does sweat cool the skin?
If yes, explain how.
If no, give reasons
Critical thinking question answer junior secondary school:
Yes, sweat cools the skin.
The process is called evaporative cooling. Sweat is made up of mostly water and it (water) evaporates on the absorption of heat at various temperature range below its boiling point. Sweat on the skin absorb the heat on the skin in order to evaporate thereby leading to the cooling of the skin.
Critical thinking question for Senior secondary school:
If a completely filled bottled water is placed in the refrigerator, why does the bottle get disfigured or broken when the water inside it freezes?
Critical thinking question for senior secondary school answer:
When water cools, the volume of water decreases until it reaches 4 degree Celsius. As water cools from 4 degree Celsius to freezing point ( zero degree Celsius), the volume increases.
When a completely filled bottle is refrigerated to freezing point, the volume of water in the bottle would have started increasing steadily from 4 degree Celsius to zero degree Celsius leading to disfigurement or breaking of the bottle.
