WEEK 2: DETAILED SUMMARY OF SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

Monday – Tuesday: Life Skills Topic – Promptness

During the first two days of the week, learners were introduced to the concept of promptness, an essential life skill that promotes discipline, respect, and responsibility.

  • Definition:
    Promptness is the quality or habit of arriving or doing things at the expected or agreed time. It reflects a person's ability to act without delay and meet commitments on schedule.

  • Opposite of Promptness:

    • Procrastination – the act of delaying or postponing tasks or responsibilities.

  • Synonyms of Promptness:

    • Quickness

    • Readiness

    • Speed

    • Punctuality

  • Advantages of Promptness:

    1. Trust and Reliability – Being on time helps people trust your word and count on you.

    2. Respect for Others – It shows consideration for other people’s time.

    3. Enhanced Productivity – Tasks are completed efficiently without unnecessary delays.

    4. Positive Reputation – People view prompt individuals as professional and dependable.

    5. Reduced Stress – Planning and being on time reduces last-minute pressure.

    6. Improved Relationships – Timeliness fosters better personal and professional relationships.

  • Disadvantages of Lack of Promptness (Procrastination):

    1. Missed Opportunities – Important chances may be lost due to lateness.

    2. Damage to Reputation – Others may view the individual as unreliable.

    3. Interpersonal Friction – Tardiness can frustrate and annoy others.

    4. Increased Stress – Delays lead to rushed tasks and anxiety.

    5. Financial Penalties – Late submissions or payments may incur extra costs.


Wednesday: Physical Education – Table Tennis

Learners were introduced to the fundamentals of table tennis, a sport that enhances agility, focus, and hand-eye coordination.

  • Definition:
    Table tennis is a fast-paced indoor game played by 2 or 4 players using paddles to hit a lightweight ball back and forth across a table divided by a net.

  • Key Skills Taught:

    • Grip – Proper way of holding the paddle to control shots.

    • Forehand Drive – A basic attacking stroke played on the dominant side.

    • Backhand Drive – A stroke played on the opposite side of the paddle hand.

    • Serving – The act of putting the ball into play with a controlled serve.


Thursday: Current Affairs Discussion

On Thursday, students engaged in discussions about current affairs, helping them stay informed about important events both locally and internationally. This activity aimed to develop learners' awareness, critical thinking, and public speaking skills.


Friday: Weekly Evaluation

The week concluded with a comprehensive evaluationsession. This included:

  • Recapping all topics discussed during the week.

  • Question-and-answer sessions to assess understanding.

  • Group discussions and reflections on the importance of promptness and active participation in physical and civic activities.


ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • All learners are expected to come neatly and completely dressed each day. This includes:

    • Wearing a tie

    • Putting on their ID card

  • IMPORTANT:
    All students are required to come with the teller (payment proof) of this term's tuition fee on Monday next week.
    No student will be allowed into the school premises without presenting this teller.
